Making 2019 The Best Year Yet

Posted: December 31, 2018 in Uncategorized
Happy New Year’s Eve! As we start a new year and you are considering new habits, resolutions and changes I wanted to share a few ideas that can help 2019 be a great year for you.
1. God created all of us to be worshippers.
What we worship determines our focus, how we spend our time and the direction of our affections. We will find our best life when Jesus is the center of our worship and first in all areas of our life. What changes can we embrace that puts Jesus in the very center of our worship?

2. Deepen Relationships
The only thing that we will take with us into eternity is our relationships. Invest in relationships that challenge you and make you a better person. We become like the people we hang out with. This year seek 3 relationships every person needs. Every person needs a spiritual leader, we need spiritual brothers/sisters that we walk shoulder to shoulder with and we need people we are investing in that helps them grow and become.

3. Focus on Making a Life Rather Than Making a Living
Choose to have less stuff to make more memorizes with the people you love. Choose to love more, forgive and laugh. Release bitterness. Speak words of life. Believe what God says about you rather than what the world says.

4. Simplify
-Give away what we do not need.
-Spend less time on our devices and social media and more time face to face with people.
-Don’t try to do to many things. Prioritize things in this order. 1. Jesus 2. People
3. Everything Else. Release what overwhelms you.

I hope you hear this last statement loud and clear. I know you have a lot of things going on in your life. I love you and I deeply care for your spiritual life. You may/may not feel the gravity of your spiritual decisions but I have done 100’s of funerals and I have yet to meet a person about to die that ask for their money, their trophies or their phones. They are focused on God and the people they love. Here is to the best 2019 refocusing on what is important can offer!
